About the Fellowship
The Keith Haring Curatorial Fellowship is a two-year program designed for early-career curators interested in performance, live art, and events. It provides hands-on experience in non-profit curatorial work, offering a pathway into professional curation, regardless of formal academic training. Fellows will work with local, national, and international artists, as well as the East Village and Performance Space communities.

Fellowship Structure

Year 1: Collaborate with the curatorial and production staff on ongoing programs.
Year 2: Propose and execute an independent curatorial project as part of the Performance Space season.
Throughout the fellowship, assist with developing archive protocols and engage with historians and archivists connected to Performance Space’s history.

Skills and Responsibilities
Fellows will gain experience in both production and curatorial work, including:

Assisting with performance production basics and logistics.
Managing budgets and program details.
Liaising with artists during rehearsals and on-site.
Supporting research, program development, studio visits, and writing under the Artistic Director’s guidance.
Contributing to Performance Space New York’s programming and community-focused initiatives.
