The Mallorca International Art Awards

The Mallorca International Art Awards (MIAA) elevate Mallorcan artists or those with close ties to the island, who stand out for the quality of their work in contemporary art.

Open Call

Open to artists or art collectives 18 years and above with significant ties to the island.

Jury

Comprised of private and institutional members, independent curators, art consultants, writers and museum directors.

Events

A series of public and private events highlighting our artists and their work, music, gastronomy and the cultural landscape of Mallorca.

Prizes

€6,000 for the Acquisition Prize and an individual exhibition. €12,500 for the Project Prize towards the creation of a project and its exhibition.

Exhibitions

The winning artists will carry out an individual exhibition and exhibit with the finalists collectively in Mallorca.

This open call is addressed to visual artists and collectives of any nationality or origin, 18 years and above on the date of the application with significant ties to the island.

Those who present these characteristics may apply to one or both categories, equally.

Acquisition category

The prize consists of the purchase of a work worth 6,000 euros that will become part of the MIAA Collection. The winning artist will hold an individual exhibition in Palma, at the same time as the collective exhibition of the finalist artists opens (October 2024).

In order to participate, the application must be submitted following the instructions found on the website.

Project category

The prize consists of a financial remuneration of 12,500 euros to carry out an artistic project for a specified period of time (maximum 6 months). The award will cover the artist’s fees, research and production costs. Once the project is finished, an exhibition will be held in Mallorca. One of the works will become part of the MIAA Collection.
