Voltaire Lab will open its doors to 4 artists invited to carry out different residencies whose purpose is to provide the Basque and
international artistic context with new tools and support for the development of their project within the graphic arts and specifically screen printing.
A cycle of 4 artistic residencies with individual exhibition is proposed. Selection criteria:
During the 5 years since Voltaire Lab was born we have developed numerous editing projects together with artists from diverse
contexts and artistic practices. We are aware that most of the artists and designers with whom we have worked do not have the
experience or the resources have neither the experience nor the necessary resources to develop a silkscreen edition, but that should
not be an impediment.
It doesn’t matter if your artistic practice is based on photography, painting, dance or sculpture. That’s why we consider ourselves as translators since we try to transfer the artistic approach and the visual resources within the artistic practice to develop our projects. Knowing this, we will select the 4 projects according to the following criteria:
- Artists will be selected regardless of gender, identity and origin.
- Each selected artist will have to prove their experience and previous artistic trajectory by attaching catalogs, portfolio or website.
- Each specific project proposed for the artistic residency and its viability within the parameters of publishing and silkscreen printing will be evaluated.
- The commercial potential of each project will be assessed in order to provide an outlet for the works produced during the artistic residency.
Present your project between 15 September and 15 October and send them to taller.voltairelab@gmail.com
