ZONE invites visual artists worldwide to participate in its 4th collective book. This high-quality publication celebrates diverse creative works, including photography, painting, illustration, sculpture, design, film stills, and more.
Information & Application Details:
- Submission Deadline: March 31, 2025
- Winners Announcement: May 1, 2025
Eligibility:
Submissions are open to all, regardless of age, experience, nationality, or artistic background. The focus is on the quality and creativity of the submitted works, rather than credentials or prior accomplishments.
Theme:
This open call has no specific theme and welcomes all types of visual arts, including photography, painting, illustration, sculpture, design, and film stills—anything suitable for print in a book. Images from one or multiple projects are accepted but will be reviewed individually.
How to Apply:
Pay a submission fee of €10 for up to 15 images per entry. After completing the payment, you will be redirected to the submission page.
Alternative Entry Options:
- Pre-order the book at a special price (saving €10).
- Purchase any currently available ZONE book.
For alternative entries, email your submission as a ZIP file along with proof of purchase. Add your social media tag, and note that purchases made prior to the Open Call’s start date are not eligible.
The submission fee helps sustain the project, covering costs for website maintenance, printing, and the extensive review process.
Selection Process:
The selection focuses on how submitted images interact to form a cohesive and engaging book. The dialogue between pieces is key to creating a meaningful collective narrative.
ZONE has no strict guidelines but encourages you to explore previous publications to understand the project’s style and character.
Prizes:
- Selected artists will have their work published in ZONE’s 4th collective book alongside international creators.
- Favorite works may also be shared on ZONE’s social media, even if not included in the book.
- Published artists will be able to purchase the book at a 50% discount.
Submission Requirements:
- File Naming: Name your files as: FirstName_LastName_Number.jpg
Example: Claude_Cahun_01.jpg - Resolution: Files should be no larger than 2MB each.
- Number of Images: A maximum of 15 images per submission is allowed.
Submissions that don’t follow these guidelines may be disqualified. High-resolution files will be requested if your work is selected for publication.
Important Notes:
- ZONE is managed by a single individual, and while we cannot respond to every submission, all selected artists will be announced on the website and social media in May 2025.
- Submission confirmation will be provided after uploading your files. Ensure all files are uploaded successfully before resubmitting, as duplicate entries will not be refunded.
- If technical issues occur, you can submit your fee through an alternative method and email your ZIP file along with proof of payment.
