The Art on the Block NYC is a short-term residency (3 weeks) that will take place in a NYC storefront. The artist-in-residence will have the opportunity to transform the space into both a studio and a public gallery. The artist-in-residence will be expected to be present 5 of 7 days of each week (hours TBA). During that time they will not only have general visitors coming in to see their artwork and engage but will also facilitate scheduled programming for youth, families, and adults. These programs include art-making workshops, artist interviews, and more and will be co-developed by the artist and Art on the Block NYC staff. If artwork is available for sale during the residency, there will be a separate sales contract in place.
