CAPITÃO Artist Residency is a unique platform dedicated to nurturing the early-stage projects of emerging artists under 35. This two-week creative retreat offers an immersive environment where artists can fully commit to their practice, surrounded by the calm beauty of the Alentejo region. Designed to foster artistic growth through research and collaboration, CAPITÃO provides a supportive setting that facilitates engaging and thought-provoking discussions among residents. This dynamic exchange aims to build a vibrant network of artists, curators, and academics.
As an evolving project, CAPITÃO welcomes new artistic practices, beyond the visual arts.
Four artists will be selected and invited to Alentejo and will have the opportunity to develop their own original project. Sharing and exchange between participants and professionals are facilitated by an intensive programme of round tables and individual meetings.
