The Aveiro City Council informs of the opening of the registration period for participation in the 17th edition of the International Biennale of Artistic Ceramics of Aveiro, which will take place between October 18, 2025 and January 18, 2026. Artists interested in participating must apply between October 1 and November 30, 2024, digitally, using the form on the https://bienalceramicaaveiro.pt/en/formulario_registo_bienal_2025-en/. Artists, national or foreign, with a maximum of two works, with an execution date not exceeding three years, may participate in the Biennale, which will be selected by the members of the jury. The works may be individual or collective works.
Organized by the Aveiro City Council, the Biennale awards three prizes: 13,000.00 euros for the first prize; 8,000.00 euros, for the second; and 4.00,00 euros for the third prize. In addition to these awards, the jury may award Honorable Mentions. The awarded works, excluding the Honorable Mentions, belong to the Aveiro City Council.
Competing artists are required to submit the registration form, fully completed, as well as their biographical note; at least two photographs of each work, at different angles, in digital format (.jpg), and with the sense of its presentation; and the descriptive memory of the proposed works.
Based on the elements presented, the Biennale’s jury will carry out a first screening of the works by January 27, 2025. The selected artists will be informed that they must deliver their works by April 30, 2025. It should be noted that the works must always be sent with freight paid.
The selected works will be on display from October 18, 2025 to January 18, 2026 at the Museum of Aveiro | Santa Joana.
