Since 2022 an international young talents prize of ceramics will be awarded , combined with appreciation for all those who dare to take the step into self-employment as full-time ceramists.
We are pleased that Helmut Rohde GmbH is sponsoring the prize with €3,000, thus giving generous support to young ceramists.
The selected pieces will be shown in an exhibition parallel to the Iznang Ceramics Market
PARTICIPANTS:
The following types of artists are invited:
* The training or the career start should not be more than six years ago, participants not older than 38 years
- FRESHLY TRAINED CERAMISTS
- CERAMIC DESIGNERS
- ARTIST’S STUDIOS
- PROFESSIONALLY WORKING LATERAL ENTRANTS
- UNIVERSITY GRADUATES
- APPRENTICES IN CRAFT BUSINESSES
- STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITIES (CERAMIC)
Submissions should be on the subject of “contrasts” A cash prize of €3,000 will be awarded.
A top-class expert jury will determine the award-winning piece. The prize also includes free participation in the 2025 Iznang Ceramics Market.
For particularly strong submissions, the jury may nominate up to 3 other workshops, which will be invited to participate in the 2025 market free of charge.

Submitted pieces:
Each participant competes with a piece that they designed and created themselves. A multi-part piece can also be submitted in exceptional cases, but no series. Collaborative works by artist communities are permitted but must be marked as such.
Objective:
The award wants to encourage newcomers to make their contemporary ceramic statement and thus integrate themselves into the ceramics scene, obtain a place at markets, trade fairs and exhibitions, and gain publicity, starting with participation in the Iznang Ceramics Market.
Two-part application process and submissions:
In the first round, the participant sends
- motivation script
- Artistic CV
- Artistic idea/ conception
- Two colour photos of their piece in high quality and resolution (300 dpi) showing two different views
of the object
- The application deadline is February 27th, 2024. The application documents are to be sent by
post or digitally to the organisation:

- Selected participants will be informed at the 9th of March and invited to the exhibition and award ceremony on July 20th, 2024.
