Office for the Arts at Harvard: The Ceramics Scholarship Program

The Ceramics Program strives to provide access to our programs to anyone who is interested in learning about the ceramic arts. We invite anyone over the age of 18 who is interested in attending our classes, events, or workshops but is unable to afford our posted registration fees to apply for a scholarship. Thanks to our generous community of supporters and collaborators, we offer scholarships to our classes and workshops through three different application processes:

  • The Peter Berry Scholarship
  • Visiting Artist Workshop Scholarship
  • Clay with Neighbors for Allston-Brighton Residents
  • Ceramics Community Scholarship for Allston-Brighton residents (offered in partnership with the Harvard Ed Portal)

The Peter Berry Scholarship is open to the greater community and Harvard students. The Ceramics Community Scholarship and Clay with Neighbors class is open to Allston-Brighton residents. Harvard students should email Kathy King, Director at kking@fas.harvard.edu with questions. Harvard students interested in applying for funding for the arts should also access the OFA homepage for information on Artist Development Fellowships, Project Grants, The Dmitri Hadzi Visual Art Grant, Music Lesson Subsidies, Student Art Prizes among other funding opportunities.

PETER BERRY SCHOLARSHIP

The Peter Berry Scholarship will provide financial assistance for adults (18+) enrolling in Ceramics Program classes. The focus of this scholarship will be to provide access to the Ceramics Program to those in financial need.

These scholarships are supported in part by many generous individuals who have made financial contributions in memory of Peter Berry, an instructor, longtime studio artist and staff member. The opportunity to welcome new people into our community and support returning students reflects Peter’s love of making community, the ceramic arts and his generosity of spirit.
