Emerging from the collaborative endeavors of the founding members with different transdisciplinary ecological trajectories and residencies around the world, the Bauhaus Bavaria Artist-in-Residence program celebrates sustainable practices and inclusive spirit merged with the ethos of the Bauhaus Movement and the Black Mountain College. Nestled amidst the breathtaking landscape of lower Bavaria, the residency offers a unique opportunity for sustainable creative experimentation. Spanning 20,000 square meters and featuring two historic buildings—the Höpfelgut and the former hermitage of Franciscan monk Elias Zormeyer—our location embodies a rich tapestry of history and natural beauty. Designed by the renowned artisans, the Höpfls, these centuries-old structures serve as a hub for creative transdisciplinary endeavor and collaborations and are a testament to Bavaria’s sustainable architectural heritage.
