The competition is organized by The Pinch, a literary journal published at the University of Memphis.
Guidelines & Important Info:
· The 2023 Pinch Literary Awards accepts poetry and fiction. The 2023 Page Prize accepts non-fiction.
· Submissions will be accepted from February 1, 2023 – March 31, 2023 at the end of the day.
· The submission fees are $20 for the Pinch Literary Awards and $10 for the Page Prize.
· The 1st place winners in poetry and fiction each receive a prize of $2,000. The 1st place winner of the Page Prize receives $1,000.
· The Pinch will only be accepting original works. Simultaneous submissions are allowed.
· There is no limit to the number of submissions a person can make to the contest.
· Submissions via email will NOT be accepted.
· Fiction submissions should not exceed 5,000 words.
· Poetry submissions have a maximum of three poems.
· Non-fiction submissions should not exceed 1,000 words.
Who may enter
The competition is open to everyone except students and faculty at the University of Memphis, United States.
Entry fee
The submission fees are $20 for the Pinch Literary Awards and $10 for the Page Prize.
Prizes
The 1st place winners in poetry and fiction each receive a prize of $2,000.
The 1st place winner of the Page Prize receives $1,000.
