A POSTER COMPETITION ABOUT THE FUTURE OF THE LAPINLAHTI CENTER FOR ART, CULTURE AND MENTAL WELL-BEING IN HELSINKI
Is designing impactful political posters you passion or do you know someone whose passion it is? Now is the time to unleash your creativity and spread the word because an international real estate developer looms over one of the national heritage sites of Finland – the former psychiatric hospital in Lapinlahti, Helsinki, that has organically transformed into a centre and community of art, culture, and mental well-being. Defend the heritage of Lapinlahti and its community from the threat of an international real estate developer with your poster! The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of 800 euros.
POSTER COMPETITION AND ITS RULES
The poster competition is open to anyone over the age of 18. By participating in the poster competition, you will support the preservation of Finnish cultural heritage under Finnish ownership and the protection of vibrant urban culture. The themes of the competition are as follows:
– Presenting of the unique cultural history of the Lapinlahti psychiatric hospital.
– Defending the organically formed centre of art, culture, and mental well-being.
– The threat caused by an international real estate developer to a Finnish heritage site.
You may use one or more of the themes mentioned above in your poster.
However, your poster must include the logo attached below.
You may choose the size and location of the logo in your poster freely.
There is no fee to enter the competition, and it takes place between May 5th – June 6, 11.59 pm (UTC +3). Note that we will not accept:
– Posters submitted after the competition has ended.
– Posters not designed specifically for this competition.
– Posters exhibited elsewhere.
– Posters that have copyrighted material in them.
There is no entry fee to participate!
The organisers of the competition will exhibit some of the contestants’ works in the Lapinlahti park in Helsinki in July. Therefore, by entering the competition, you will automatically give the organisers, Lapinlahden Lähde LLC and Pro Lapinlahti mielenterveysseura ry, the permission to do so and to publish your work on their social media channels.
