We are seeking public art projects to animate our outdoor space, through a series of exhibitions featuring banners fixed to our gallery’s exterior.

We are open to any submissions, but are particularly interested in projects that critically and creatively engage with the idea of the banner or flag itself, considering their strong symbolic value and identity shaping qualities. We are interested in how these principles complement and celebrate the adjacent Citizens Park as a vernacular space for everyday participation and cultural value.

Each project will feature a series of three vinyl banners installed within the archways that adorn the roofed space surrounding our building. Two horizontal banners, each measuring 122 x 183 cm, will be placed along the side of the building facing Citizens Park, and one square banner, measuring 122 x 122 cm, will be installed adjacent to our front door, facing Church Street.

Selected artists will collaborate on the development and printing of their artworks onto banners. Artists are welcome to modify or intervene upon the banners once they have been printed. Seventh will cover the costs of printing and installation, with artists retaining ownership of the banners after the exhibition concludes.

Deadline: Midnight, Friday June 14
