The open call is aimed at artists and creatives who intend to work within sacred, historical and characteristic spaces of the place, to create site-specific works. For the fifth edition we invite the artists to work closely in the Sicilian territory in the village of Modica in the province of Ragusa, Sicily.
APS Zona Blu presents the 5th edition of SITU Festival in Modica (RG). The artistic residency and site-specific festival, throughout its previous editions – in Militello in Val di Catania (2020 and 2021), Acate (2022), Chiaramonte Gulfi (2023) –
have increasingly concentrated on the development of artistic projects in Sicily, away from the ordinary circuits of contemporary art.
Each project focuses on the social and historical characteristics of the location hosting the Festival, with the dual intention of connecting the installations with the hosting venue and testing the adaptation of art within it.
