Oo La Lab is excited to announce its Artist-in-Residence Program in Singapore and Dubai, aimed at blending art with the sensory world of scent. This residency invites creative minds to explore the intersection of artistic expression and olfactory experiences.
“Scent is not just a sensory experience; it is an art form that connects us to our emotions and memories,” says Dan Terry Jacobson, Creative Director at Oo La Lab. “This program invites artists to push boundaries and explore the endless creative possibilities of fragrance.”

Residency period: February 10th, 2025 – May 10th, 2025
Eligibility:
- Who Can Apply:
○ Artists, influencers, or students with a passion for creativity, scent, and cultural storytelling.
○ Applicants should demonstrate artistic talent and a strong portfolio in fields such as visual arts, design, photography, or mixed media. - Creative Interest:
○ A genuine interest in exploring the world of fragrance and sensory storytelling, though prior experience with scent is not required. - Social Media Skills:
○ Ability to document and share the residency journey through engaging social media content is a plus. - Alignment with Values:
○ Applicants should align with Oo La Lab’s ethos of sustainability, cultural narratives, and innovative expression. - Location:
○ Open to applicants based in or willing to work in Singapore or Dubai for the duration of the residency. - Commitment:
○ Must dedicate 10-15 hours per week to creative production, collaboration, and community engagement during the 3-6 month residency.

Ideal Candidate Skills & Abilities:
- Artistic Talent: You should have a strong foundation in an artistic discipline—be it visual arts, design, photography, or mixed media—with a portfolio showcasing your creativity.
- Storytelling Ability: You should be able to translate concepts into engaging narratives, whether through visuals, written content, or experiential designs.
- Interest in Scent & Culture: While prior experience with fragrance isn’t necessary, a keen interest in sensory storytelling, cultural exploration, and innovative expression is key.
- Social Media Savvy: Ability to create engaging content across platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) is a plus, as part of the residency involves sharing your creative journey.
