The Philip C. Curtis Artist-in-Residence Program at Albion College offers two ten-week residencies per academic year—one in Fall 2025 (August–December) and one in Spring 2026 (January–May). The program provides housing, a studio, a solo exhibition, and a stipend for emerging artists, enabling them to focus on their work in a supportive academic environment within the Department of Art and Art History.

Eligibility:

  • Open to emerging artists.
  • Selection is based on artistic quality, proposal strength, and compatibility with students.

Submission Requirements:

  • One- to three-page proposal detailing the work to be created during the residency.
  • Portfolio of 20 images.
  • CV (Curriculum Vitae).

  • Applications are reviewed by the Department of Art and Art History faculty.
  • Selection is based on artistic merit, proposal strength, and student engagement potential.
  • Artists may be invited for discussions before final selection.
