The Wilhelm Morgner scholarship is a biannual artist residency program offering young visual artists secure working conditions, financial support, and the opportunity for an exhibition in Soest, Germany. The residency takes place at the Künstlerhaus im Paulipark and lasts for six months.

Program Benefits
The jury meeting will take place on November 21, 2025.
The jury will then meet in a closed session from 11 a.m. The winner will be chosen on the same day. You will be informed immediately by telephone and asked to confirm your participation.
The applicants who take second and third place will be informed of the nomination later.
The residency scholarship is aimed at visual arts artists with a university degree up to the age of 35. Alternatively, this age limit can be waived if the degree was completed no more than five years ago. The ability to communicate in everyday German is required.
A free stay in the artists’ house in Paulipark in the heart of the historic old town of Soest is granted for a period of six months. This is linked to a monthly maintenance allowance of €1,200.
Artist couples who work together artistically are granted a maintenance allowance of €1,800.
Following the work scholarship, the scholarship holders have the opportunity to hold a final exhibition.
