Short Description
The health of the jewelry industry depends on the continuous flow of new talent and design creativity. It is critical that new artists also hone their business skills in order to effectively manage their small businesses in today’s global market. Each summer Halstead awards a grant to a new jewelry designer working primarily in silver.
Eligibility
Must have started selling jewelry after January 1, 2020 – see FAQs!
Must be a student or professional jewelry designer
Must intend to pursue a full-time career in metal jewelry design
Must have a cohesive collection of metal jewelry for resale
Must have a line that includes significant sterling or fine silver elements
Must intend to sell at a national level
Must not exceed three submissions
Must be a U.S. citizen or have a Permanent Resident (Green) Card
Submission Requirements
- Applicant Information Form & Signed Application Form
- Sales & Marketing Application Questions
- Jewelry Collection Questions
- Capacity, Finance, & Planning Application Questions
- Total packet is 20 pages or less
- 5-10 Color photographs of your original jewelry designs
- List of Materials & Techniques used in each design
- Wholesale and/or retail price for each design
- Resumé or list of past education & employment
OPTIONAL: - Marketing Collateral Materials- tags, flyer, biz cards, etc
- Photos of store, tradeshow displays, etc
