Short Description:
The Gwaertler Grant supports work in the arts that seeks to make a concrete difference to the context in which it is presented. The grant is specifically geared towards practitioners in all of the arts who are getting started on a project and need support for a wide range of activities, such as:
- archival research
- connecting with people from other disciplines
- active fieldwork
- cross-cultural collaboration
- conducting interviews
- taking courses
- organising workshops
- experimenting with techniques
- voluntary apprenticeships
- durational exercises
- and more
Please Note: The grant does not cover the acquisition of hardware, tools, or equipment. The Gwaertler Stiftung is not obliged to provide funding.
Application Requirements:
Please fill in the form and upload your document (one PDF, maximum three pages). Applications will be confirmed via email. Note the following:
- Applicants may submit only one application per year.
- Successful applicants may reapply only after two years.
- Projects cannot be resubmitted in subsequent cycles if previously submitted, whether selected or not.
The PDF should include:
- A description of your project (up to 500 words)
- Examples of previous work
- A rough budget
- A brief CV (with relevant links)

The amount of the award for successful applicants (maximum 12,000 CHF) depends on the funds available for each funding round.
