Short Description:

MoMA is seeking a Director of the Emilio Ambasz Institute who will also serve as a Curator in the Department of Architecture and Design. This dual role combines institutional leadership with curatorial innovation to advance the Institute’s mission of exploring the intersection between the built and natural environment.

Responsibilities

Shape acquisition strategies and contribute to the curatorial work of the Architecture and Design department.

Lead all activities of the Ambasz Institute including exhibitions, public programs, and research initiatives.

Oversee finances, personnel, and operations of the Institute.

Collaborate closely with other museum departments and external partners on issues of sustainability and ecological design.

Develop digital and in-person programming and publications.

Eligibility:

  • 7–10 years of curatorial or academic experience in architecture, environmental studies, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in contemporary architecture and sustainability discourse.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to build networks and collaborate across institutions.

Program Benefits or Awards:

Salary: $175,000–$200,000 annually
