Short Description
In this new edition of Draad, Kunstwerkt and Texture invite visual artists to play with these contrasts in absurd times. To embrace the bizarre when everything becomes more complex, faster and stranger. Until October 14, 2025, we are looking for visual work with a nod to textiles. And we encourage artists to colour outside the textile lines and to question the boundaries of material and technique. A tapestry of pixels, an embroidered phrase, a sculpture of discarded textiles: it’s all possible. The selected works can be seen during the exhibition of the same name that will take place from 24 January to 29 March 2026 at Texture in Kortrijk.
Eligibility
- ‘Draad’ is open to everyone from the age of 18.
- With this project, Kunstwerkt and Texture aim at visual artists who are at the beginning of their artistic journey and are looking for that one show opportunity that gives them a boost. Recently graduated or self-taught for life: we want to see your work.
- Artists represented by a gallery cannot participate.
- The focus is on artists who use textiles as an artistic medium or use or depict them in a different way in their work.
- With ‘Thread’ we want to be able to exhibit a wide range of textile creations. All types of works are allowed, but they must contain at least an element and/or reference to textiles in order to be selected by the jury.
- A series or a series (a work consisting of several parts) is allowed. Clearly state this in the description.

Program Benefits & Awards
We provide a fee of € 240 excluding VAT for each selected participant. With this we want to intervene in the transport and presentation costs involved in participating in this process.
