Short Description:
Mesh Festival is a biennial event exploring the intersection of art and technology and their impact on society. Following its successful first edition in 2024, the second edition will take place in October 2026 with the theme urban actions | spatial utopias, focusing on digital entanglements and the future of public space.
Mesh is seeking an Artistic Director to lead the research, conceptual development, curation, and follow-up of the 2026 edition. Working closely with the board and supported by a curatorial assistant, technical director, and the team at mjm (responsible for overall festival coordination), the Artistic Director will develop and oversee a multidisciplinary programme including exhibitions, performances, talks, screenings, and more. Responsibilities also include budget management, regional and international outreach, and curatorial administration.
Eligibility:
- Proven curatorial experience in media arts, design, and technology
- Strong international network and awareness of current developments in art & tech
- Experience in exhibition and event management
- High attention to detail and sensitivity when working with artists and artworks
- Excellent editorial and communication skills in German and English
- Independent, proactive, and collaborative working style
- Strong organizational skills and commitment to inclusive and sustainable practices
Program Benefits or Awards:
- Average workload: 55% (variable monthly workload)
- Gross salary base: CHF 6,500/month (for 100% FTE)
