Short Description
A Scrutiny Mutiny is a juried, global collective exhibition staging a visual revolt against systems of control, surveillance, and internalized judgment. Hosted by The Hook Experiment — a physical and symbolic space for artists, musicians, and creators to come together — this show invites artists from around the world to examine how we are seen, measured, and shaped by institutions, society, and ourselves.
Possible Interpretations
We encourage a wide range of responses, including but not limited to:
- Surveillance & Rebellion: Work that engages with being watched, tracked, or monitored — and flips that power dynamic.
- Bodies Under Scrutiny: Reclaiming identity in the face of societal, racial, gendered, or medical inspection.
- Internal Uprising: The mutiny within — imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and liberation through expression.
- Historical & Political Scrutiny: Challenging dominant narratives or authority, rewriting official histories.
This is a call to speak back and twist the lens — a collective revolt through art.
