Short Description
The Jeju International Photo Contest celebrates its 17th anniversary with participants from over 30 countries around the world, including Korea. Through the contest, we hope you discover and spread the beauty of Jeju Island around the world. The contest is hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Donga ilbo.
The 17th Jeju International Photo Contest, co-hosted by Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and Dong-A Ilbo, will be held to commemorate the World Heritage Festival.
This contest is an international photo contest in which more than 30 countries around the world are participating, and anyone who loves Jeju can participate.
Topics related to Jeju Island, such as Jeju’s natural scenery, culture and people, and the old appearance of Jeju, can all be applied.
During the contest application period, there are also great prizes available for events held through the website, so please pay attention to them.
We hope that you will share your memories and emotions with people around the world through the beautiful appearance of Jeju.
Eligibility
Open to anyone who loves Jeju, regardless of nationality or background
Photography Category
1) All photo types are welcome — color, black & white, digital, film, and drone photography.
Composite or AI-assisted images are allowed, but the base image must be originally
photographed by the applicant
AI should be used only as a supplementary tool
2) File names must follow the format: ‘Submitter_Field / Title (Place taken)’ If generative AI is used, this must be clearly stated in the file name
Examples:

– Hong Gildong_Digital Camera_Composite / Beautiful Peak (Seongsan Ilchulbong)

3) Up to 5 submissions per person. For AI or composite works, original source images must be included in a ZIP file
4) Series works will be considered as one submission and must be submitted as one image file
5) Submissions must be in JPG format, under 3MB, and 300dpi. Original files must be over 5MB and may be requested separately from final-round candidates
Short-Form Video Category
1) Submit a vertical video (9:16) of up to 60 seconds and a storyboard (PDF, max 2 pages)
2) Editing is allowed as long as it does not violate portrait or copyright laws. However, a storyboard must be submitted to verify storytelling (free format)
3) File names must follow the format: ‘Submitter / Title’ If generative AI is used, this must be clearly stated in the file name
Examples:

– Hong Gildong_Generative AI / Hidden Treasures in Jeju
4) If generative AI is used, or if the video or images are not directly captured by the entrant, the tools, source links, or image origins must be clearly stated in the ‘Work Description’ section
5) Only one entry per person is allowed
6) Submit both the storyboard and the video link via the official website (www.jejucontest.com) through the “Apply” section
7) Videos must be uploaded to YouTube or Instagram, and the link must be submitted
– For YouTube: ‘Unlisted’ setting is acceptable
– For Instagram: The video must be uploaded to a public account. Videos uploaded to private accounts cannot be reviewed and will be excluded from judging
