Short Description:

A full-time postgraduate program focused on developing your own serious contemporary fine art practice, in dialogue with global cultural, social, technological and ethical themes. You work in mixed-media, experiment with new ideas/projects, and build professional capacities (exhibitions, commissions, portfolio) through a transdisciplinary environment.

Curriculum Highlights:

  • The course includes modules such as: Research Methods & Project Proposal, Creative Innovation & Entrepreneurship, Creative Studio, Professional Platforms: Art & Communication, and the Major Project.
  • You explore many media: painting, drawing, sculpture, lens-based media, performance, new media, etc.
  • There is a strong professional orientation: exhibitions, commissions, self-direction in project work, and understanding of cultural, social, ethical dimensions of contemporary art.

Entry Requirements:

  • At least a UK Honours degree (2:2 or above) in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional qualification.
  • For international / creative practice applicants: a digital portfolio of work.
  • English language proficiency if English isn’t your first language: usually IELTS 6.0 overall with no element below 5.5 (or equivalent)

  • UK / Domestic students: ~ £9,900 per year.
  • International / EU students: ~ £17,600 per year.
  • Also expect additional costs for materials (printing, specialist workshop costs etc.), approximately £500 recently, depending on your project.
