Short Description
An internship for undergraduates, graduate students, or recent grads interested in curatorial work. Interns will help with curatorial research, writing about works and artists in the permanent collection, support tasks for the curatorial library, and assist with exhibition-related research and administration.
Eligibility
- Must be an undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate.
- Major or minor in art history, visual culture, or a related field.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Rules & Requirements
- Interns need excellent writing and research skills, knowledge of the contemporary art world.
- Able to handle multiple projects independently.
- Weekly commitment (~21 hours/week), Monday–Friday. Must be on site at least three days/week, including mandatory full day on Tuesdays.

- Resume – highlighting relevant education, experience, and skills.
- Cover Letter – detailing your interest in the internship, motivation, and fit for the role.
- Writing Sample – up to 5 pages, demonstrating research, critical thinking, or curatorial analysis.
Salary
Stipend of US $5,292 for the full internship period.
Location
New York, NY, USA (on-site work at the Studio Museum in Harlem)
