We invite you to participate in the Open Call for the next edition of Salón ACME. Learn about the participation guidelines on our website www.salonacme.com.
The Call closes on Thursday, October 5, 2023. Don’t miss out on applying!
Before applying, please take note of the following:
● It is recommended to use the Chrome browser to fill out your application. You can use any other browser, but it may freeze or load information slowly.
● The application platform does not accept cell phones or tablets. It is important to use a moderately up-to-date computer.
● The platform only accepts JPG and JPEG images with a MAX size of 5MB.
● Once you start filling out the fields of the application, you can continue modifying your information for several days, until the closing date (October 5, 2023).
● After submitting your application, you will no longer be able to modify your information, even if the call has not yet closed.
● If the closing date arrives and your application is incomplete, we’re sorry but your information will be discarded without evaluation.
● If you are selected, the information you provide will be public, as we will use it for texts, certificates, brochures, and social media of Salón ACME. By applying, you accept the use of your information for the purpose of promoting Salón ACME.
How to apply?
- Create an account on www.salonacme.com
- Fill out the required information:
a) Personal information
b) CV (Maximum 4,000 characters)
c) Portfolio:
● 7 images of representative artwork (JPG or JPEG format / Maximum 5MB in size).
● Information for each artwork: title, year, technique, dimensions, brief conceptual explanation.
d) Proposed artwork for Salón ACME:
● 1 to 3 artworks per artist (JPG or JPEG format / Maximum 5MB in size).
● Information for each artwork: title, year, technique, dimensions, brief conceptual explanation.
● Installation or assembly instructions.
e) Biography (1100 characters)
● You can include up to three recent photographs of yourself (JPG or JPEG format / Maximum 5MB in size).
- Maximum cost per artwork: $100,000 MXN (One hundred thousand Mexican Pesos), of which 65% goes to the artist and 35% to Salón ACME. The price should not include VAT.
Participation guidelines:
● Artists of all ages, nationalities, and backgrounds can apply. Art collectives can also participate.
● Each artist or collective can participate with 1 to 3 artworks.
● All mediums, formats, and dimensions are welcome. Preferably, apply with produced artworks.
● Please, do not submit artworks that have been recently presented in other fairs.
● No artwork should exceed $100,000 MXN (one hundred thousand Mexican Pesos). Include production, packaging, and shipping costs in the final price of the artwork.
● If participating with a polyptych or an installation composed of multiple pieces, it is possible to assign an individual price to each piece.
● Applications are made through our platform and will not be accepted by any other means, or after the closing date of the Call: October 5, 2023.
● The application is free of charge.
● It is important to fill out all fields of information. Carefully read and accept the terms and conditions (found at the beginning of the application on the platform).
● Each selected artist is responsible for the cost of shipping their artwork to the Salón ACME venue (Calle General Prim 30, Col. Juárez 06600, CDMX).
● At Salón ACME, we take care of the reception, handling, install, promotion, and sale of the artworks. We have the support of a professional team for logistics, installation, and sales.
