The Curator (Studios and Residencies) has specific responsibility for devising, programming and facilitating a multitude of artist development initiatives. Working closely with our onsite artists and cultural tenants as well as a wider community of artists, you will deliver and develop an impactful programme of residencies, professional development, networking and public-facing events
A major part of this role is the delivery of The LOEWE FOUNDATION / Studio Voltaire Award, including administering a bi-annual application process and international residency opportunity, developing the programme and working closely with the selected artists to maximise their experience as part of the programme.
In this position, you will lead the development of our residency programmes for UK and international artists and curators, utilising our onsite residency studios and wider resources. With the support of our Director and Head of Development and Communications, you will work to identify, cultivate and secure new partnerships with a range of cultural institutions, individual supporters, trust and foundations, and sponsors to establish a year-round and vibrant programme.
You will develop Studio Voltaire’s role as a site of research, experimentation and artistic production, and consider how this can be further expanded to reach more individual artists. Importantly, you will lead a wide-reaching programme of public talks, workshops, studio tours and open studios that will bring audiences into direct dialogue with a community of artists, and will provide opportunities to engage with the process of production.
You will share Studio Voltaire’s commitment to being more inclusive and support creating opportunities for wider access and engagement, particularly for individuals and communities who have traditionally faced barriers or have been underrepresented within the sector.
