The theme “Still Life” for the August 2024 edition of the Monthly Art Award invites artists to explore the beauty and complexity of inanimate objects arranged in a composed setting. Artists are encouraged to depict everyday items such as fruits, flowers, vessels, and objects in their artworks. The theme provides an opportunity for artists to showcase their skills in capturing light, shadow, texture, color, and form, creating visually captivating compositions. Whether through traditional realism or more contemporary interpretations, artists have the freedom to experiment with compositions and convey their unique perspectives on the theme.

SURREALISM
The theme “Surrealism” explores the imaginative and dreamlike realm of the subconscious mind. Artists are encouraged to create works that defy conventional reality, blending elements of fantasy, symbolism, and the unexpected. Surrealist art often features bizarre and fantastical imagery, with juxtaposed objects, distorted forms, and dreamlike landscapes. Participants may draw inspiration from their dreams, fantasies, and subconscious thoughts to create thought-provoking and visually captivating compositions. Surrealism challenges traditional notions of representation and invites viewers to explore the depths of the human psyche through unconventional and enigmatic imagery.
