Nottingham Contemporary is a major contemporary art institution in Nottingham and one of the largest contemporary art centres in the UK. Since opening in 2009, it has presented ambitious exhibitions, commissions, live programmes, and engagement projects, with a particular emphasis on international contemporary art and overlooked histories, geographies, artists, and practices.

2027 Asymmetry Assistant Curator Fellowship — Nottingham Contemporary, Nottingham
The fellowship is designed for an early-career curator seeking to develop practical experience in contemporary curating within the British public institutional sector. The successful fellow will participate in exhibitions, commissions, live programmes, research, writing, and institutional projects while developing their own research and curatorial practice.

Eligibility
The opportunity is international and intended for an early-career curator who, to any extent, identifies with Chinese or Sinophone cultures or backgrounds.
- 1–3 years of curatorial experience and a commitment to international contemporary art history.
- Knowledge of and interest in emerging artistic practices.
- A degree in Art History, Cultural Studies, or a relevant contemporary-art field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working with living artists, commissioning new work, developing exhibitions or live programmes, and producing editorial content.
- Interest in curating within the British public institutional sector.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and English-language writing skills.
- Good organisational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Knowledge of a second language is preferred.
