Short Description

The ArtsPay Foundation is an independent charitable foundation with a mission to support independent artists and small arts organisations across Australia.

Funding is available to:

  • Independent artists who have been residing in Australia for at least two years.
  • Small arts organisations with a turnover of less than $1 million.

Eligibility

Applications will be accepted from artists or organisations currently practising in one or more of the following

  • First Nations Arts and Culture
  • Performance
  • Design
  • Theatre
  • Dance
  • Music
  • Literature
  • Visual Art
  • Multi-Art Form
  • Community and Cultural Development
  • Experimental and new arts forms

What is Act Two: No Fuss Funding?

In Round One, you told us:

  • To trust you – the artist – you know what you are doing. 
  • Easy applications mean better access for everyone.
  • An idea can be conveyed just as powerfully in 400 words as it can in 4000.  
  • The arts come in many forms and enrich lives in many ways – from creation of artworks to deep creative and cultural engagement that builds vibrant communities.
  • Artists need support beyond project delivery – to create, survive and dream.
  • Outcomes don’t equal outcomes; it’s the process that matters.

None of this sounds radical, but the breadth of applications we received in Round One – from artists all around the country, practicing all artforms, from all backgrounds – showed how important these simple lessons can be. 

Act Two: No Fuss Funding will again strive to make ArtsPay Foundation funding fair, easy to access and transparent. Our funding is intentionally flexible without requiring a specific project, or outcomes and deliverables.

We won’t tell you what needs funding, you tell us. 

All we want to know is how to support you. 

How to Apply

Program Benefits & Awards

In 2025 the ArtsPay Foundation will be providing:

  • Twelve (12) $7,500 grants to independent artists who have been residing in Australia for at least two years and
  • Two (2) $7,500 grants to small arts organisations with a turnover of less than $1million.
