Organizer Information:

airWG is organized by the Atelier WG community, established in Amsterdam in 2015. It functions as a laboratory and platform for in-depth artistic development, supporting a wide range of projects including visual, performance, interdisciplinary, curatorial, and research-oriented works. The organization fosters a creative and critical approach, offering artists the time and space to reflect, experiment, create, and share their work within a supportive community.

airWG Artist Residency 2026–2027
This residency invites artists to engage deeply with their practice in a collaborative and stimulating environment. Residents are provided with living and studio spaces to develop, experiment, and present projects. Opportunities include exhibitions, public presentations, and community engagement within Amsterdam’s vibrant art scene. The program emphasizes creative autonomy while facilitating professional growth and networking.

Eligibility:

Open to both international and national artists, including emerging and established practitioners. Artists may apply individually or as duos.

Program Benefits & Awards:

  • 70m² studio with living space, kitchen, bathroom, washing machine, storage, internet, bicycle, and garden
  • Introductory gathering with the WG community
  • Fixed liaison to the WG community and the broader Amsterdam art scene
  • Opportunity to host an exhibition or event at puntWG
  • Promotion of the project via social media and other channels
  • Assistance with public presentation

Application Fee:

  • Residency rent: €800/month (including utilities)
  • Deposit: €400 (due one month before residency)
  • Residents cover travel, living expenses, material costs, visa, and insurance

Application Requirements:

Submit a single PDF (max 10 MB) including:

  1. Visual documentation: Up to 10 recent works with titles, years, materials, and dimensions; film/audio work via online link (max 5 min)
  2. CV: Max 1 A4 page
  3. Motivation text & residency plan: Max 1 A4 page
  4. Specify desired residency period: July–Sept 2026, Oct–Dec 2026, Jan–Mar 2027, or Apr–Jun 2027
