Analogue / Digital: International Photography Exhibition 2026 — Call for Photographers
Solas / Shadow Gallery has launched an open call for its upcoming virtual group exhibition, Analogue / Digital. The exhibition invites photographers worldwide to examine the dynamic relationship between traditional chemical processes and modern digital image-making. Applicants are asked to investigate how these two distinct methodologies influence, challenge, and complement each other in contemporary practice—exploring the speed and flexibility of digital tools alongside the tactile, enduring qualities of film and traditional darkroom techniques. Participating photographers may focus on analogue, digital, or hybrid approaches in their submissions.
Categories
The call accepts Analogue Photography, Film/Chemical Photography, Digital Photography, Alternative Processes, and Hybrid Image-Making Practices.
Eligibility
- Age Benchmark: Open to photographers aged 18 years of age or older.
- Geographic Scope: Open unconditionally to applicants of all nationalities and locations worldwide.
- Selection Policy: Only selected artists will be contacted following jury review.
Program Benefits & Support
- Virtual Gallery Exhibition: Featured display in a curated online exhibition on the gallery's website commencing in January 2027.
- Publication & Catalog Feature: Official inclusion in both the digital (PDF) and physical printed Exhibition Catalogue.

Application Fee & Participation Cost
- Submission Fee: 100% free to submit ($0 initial entry fee).
- Selected Artist Participation Fee: Artists pay a nominal participation fee only if selected for the exhibition:
- £16 GBP if 1 image is selected.
- £22 GBP if 2 or more images are selected.
Application Requirements
- Submission Volume: Upload up to 5 images per photographer.
- File Format & Naming: JPG format. Name files clearly using your full name (e.g., Ann-Smith1.jpg, Ann-Smith2.jpg).
- Delivery Method: Send files using a file transfer platform (such as Smash, SwissTransfer, or WeTransfer) to submissions@solas-shadowgallery.com.
- Required Submission Metadata:
- Full First Name and Surname.
- Location and/or Nationality.
- Social media handles and/or personal portfolio website links.
- Short artist biography (maximum a couple of sentences).
- Titles of submitted images (if applicable).

Additional Details
Artists retain full copyright ownership of their submitted photographs. By submitting, artists grant Solas / Shadow Gallery permission to reproduce selected images for exhibition display, website hosting, social media coverage, YouTube video spotlights, and promotional publications.
