Short Description:

The Festival includes Competitive and Non-competitive Screenings of national and international animation films, in addition to special sessions, feature films, masterclass, exhibition and animation workshops for both beginners, children and professionals.

Animage 2025’s competitive screenings categories include:

  1. Short film – Films lasting up to 30 minutes
  2. Children’s Short Film – Films for children audience lasting up to 30 minutes
  3. Student Short Film – Films with a running time of up to 30 minutes (including credits) made by students and schools

The Animage Festival reaffirms its stance of understanding the animation as cultural art more than as commercial industry. The festival privileges risk, boldness, ideas, reinvention and the use of digital or crafty tools as a support for the development of critical imagination and exercise of creative freedom. It is produced by Rec-Beat Productions, sponsored by Caixa Cultural Recife, incentive by Funcultura – Government of the State of Pernambuco and support from Joaquim Nabuco Foundation, Consulate of France and Institut Français.

The event for 2025 will take place in the city of Recife, Brazil between 7th and 12th October 2025.

Eligibility: Festival of Pernambuco is accepting submissions for 2025 and invites entries by filmmakers from around the world.

Program Benefits or Awards: As part of the Animage competitive programs, trophies and prize money will be awarded in 2025. The best Short film will be awarded with R$4,000.
