AiOP 2025, curated by Deborah Oliver, is the twentieth annual outdoor public visual and performance art festival in West Hollywood, taking place from July 25–27, 2025. The festival focuses on the theme VOICE, exploring engagement, agency, presence, and resonance. It invites proposals for self-produced and self-sufficient public art projects, both individual and collaborative, that use installations, actions, gestures, and sound to reflect on the power of VOICE and its potential for fostering dialogue and community.

Eligibility:
- Open to individual and collaborative artists, across all disciplines.
- Artists must propose projects that can engage the public in reflective dialogue on the theme of VOICE.
- Artists must be able to manage their projects’ production and are expected to participate for the full three days of the festival.
Theme:
- VOICE: Artists are encouraged to explore various interpretations of voice—spoken, heard, seen, or silent—and consider its role in personal and collective identity, activism, and community.
- The festival will reflect on how art can amplify unheard voices and bridge divides, particularly within the context of West Hollywood’s legacy of activism and culture.
How to Apply:
- Visit the AiOP website for guidelines and the application form.
- Projects should be self-produced and self-sufficient, low-tech or no-tech, and engage with public spaces and pedestrians.
- Proposals should demonstrate how they reflect the theme of VOICE, and projects should not impede pedestrian or vehicular traffic.
Submission Requirements:
- Proposals should include a detailed project description and the artist’s vision, considering the public space and its interaction with audiences.
- Projects must be able to be static or mobile within public spaces.
- Artists must be available for all three days of the festival and for installation and de-installation.
Selection Process:
- Proposals will be reviewed by the curator, Deborah Oliver, and the AiOP team.
- Selected artists will be notified in early April 2025.
Program Benefits & Awards:
- Stipend: All selected artists will receive a modest stipend.
- Promotion: Artists will be promoted to AiOP’s network, with website presence, project info, bios, and links to personal websites.
