Brief Description

The Artadia Awards provide financial support, exposure, and recognition to contemporary visual artists in select U.S. cities. The awards are unrestricted grants, allowing artists to use the funds as they choose. In addition to monetary support, awardees gain access to the Artadia Network, which facilitates career development through structured networking opportunities.

Eligibility

  • Open to contemporary visual artists working in galleries, museums, public art, and non-profit spaces.
  • Must live and work in one of the eligible cities for at least two years before the deadline.
  • Not currently enrolled in an art-related degree program.
  • Must be the sole conceptual author of submitted work unless applying as a collaborative.
  • Past Artadia Award winners of $10,000 or more are ineligible.
  • If in a long-term residency program, applicants must apply in their permanent city of residence.

Selection Process

  1. Open Call: One-month application period per city.
  2. Application Review: A jury of three curators (including one local) selects six finalists.
  3. Studio Visits: A second jury conducts virtual studio visits with finalists.
  4. Final Selection: Three artists per city receive the $15,000 award (one Los Angeles artist receives $25,000).
  5. Honorariums: Finalists not selected as awardees receive a small honorarium for their participation.
