Job Description
- Job title – Front of House Team Members
- Role type – Fixed Term (mid-September 2025 – end of December 2025)
- Based – Central London
- Reporting to – Producer and Assistant Producer
- Expected salary – £13.85 per hour
- Flexible, depending on availability
Purpose of the role
Front of House Team Members provide an exceptional experience and standard of service to visitors attending an Artangel project. They are the first point of contact for visitors and responsible for creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. A responsibility for public safety is also central to this role.
As part of your working pattern, we need a team able to work weekends, bank holidays and occasional evenings. Working hours and days will be agreed in advance.
Key responsibilities
- To create and maintain a friendly, welcoming atmosphere
- To ensure excellence in visitor care is consistently achieved
- To demonstrate a duty of care for visitors by ensuring that public areas are safe and accessible at all times
- To assist the Front of House Manager with fire evacuation and first aid responsibilities
- To follow all required policies and procedures, ensuring that any issues are reported to the Front of House Manager promptly
- To provide tailored assistance and information to visitors with access requirements
- To participate in the collection of visitor data
- To handle cash and card sales and ticket booking enquiries
- To answer visitor comments or queries confidently, effectively and appropriately
Person specification
Essential
- Experience in a public-facing role where engaging customers in meaningful exchanges are key
- Experience in handling cash and card sales
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrable interest in the arts
- Enthusiastic, positive attitude and a flexible approach to work
- Experience of following health and safety and risk management policies
- Willingness to engage with a wide range of people with respect and sensitivity
- Fluent in English
Desirable
- First Aid training
- Fire Marshal training
- Access Equality training
- Experience using Eventbrite, Ticket Tailor or other box office systems
- Conversant in other languages (including BSL)
- Enthusiasm for working in the arts
