Artesana Global — Curatorial Lab NYC: Call for Applications
Artesana Foundation has opened applications for Artesana Global, a 4-week Curatorial Laboratory offered in Online, In-Person (New York), and Hybrid formats. Bridging contemporary art ecosystems between New York and Latin America, the lab explores Decolonial Curatorial Practices, Sustainable Cultural Production, Exhibition Storytelling, Art & Ecology, Artist-Curator Relationships, and Alternative Exhibition Models. Participants receive hands-on mentorship from experienced curators, gallerists, and art historians while developing a curatorial concept, exhibition proposal, research framework, or publication outline.
Program Formats & Pricing Tiers
- Online Program Track: $750 USD program fee (Includes 4-week intensive online lab, mentorship, peer conversations, research development, and digital publication/exhibition).
- New York / In-Person Track: $1,500 USD program fee (Includes 4-week intensive NYC lab, mentorship, studio access, museum visits, access to Materials for the Arts, networking events, and final exhibition/presentation).
(Note: Program fees do not include accommodation, airfare/travel, meals, local NYC transportation, visa expenses, personal materials, or insurance).

The laboratory accepts Curatorial Proposals, Exhibition Design, Decolonial Research, Cultural Production Frameworks, Arts Management Initiatives, Publication Concepts, and Interdisciplinary Exhibition Models.
Eligibility
- Demographic Scope: Open unconditionally to emerging and established curators, artists, cultural managers, researchers, and practitioners residing in New York, Latin America, across the United States, and globally.
- Experience Level: A previous formal curatorial career is not required; artists, emerging practitioners, and creative entrepreneurs exploring curatorial methods are warmly welcomed.
- Project Status: Accepts developing ideas, exhibition concepts, research questions, or new frameworks for exhibition-making.
