Title & Description
Artist Educator (Ages 6–12)
Museum London is seeking a creative and organized Artist Educator to inspire children ages 6–12 through dynamic art activities. The role centers on creating engaging, hands-on experiences that build skills, confidence, and self-expression. Artist Educators work with diverse learners, encouraging experimentation, curiosity, and imagination. This position emphasizes playful, interactive learning while nurturing artistic development and critical thinking. The educator will collaborate with assistants and volunteers, maintain a safe and inspiring studio space, and integrate interdisciplinary connections with art and history.
The Role Overview
- Salary / Compensation: $25/hour
- Contract Type: On-call / as-needed basis
- Reporting To: Curator of Engagement and Outreach
- Program: Children’s art education programs at Museum London
- Curator / Supervisor: Curator of Engagement and Outreach
- Hours: Scheduled based on museum program needs, flexible
Position & Tasks
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate art lessons for children aged 6–12
- Introduce diverse art materials, techniques, and processes
- Encourage experimentation, creativity, collaboration, and self-expression
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and organized studio space
- Delegate preparatory and cleanup tasks to assistants/volunteers
- Work within a budget for art supplies, ensuring non-toxic and safe materials
- Provide detailed course outlines two weeks in advance for review

Eligibility
- Experience working with children aged 6–12 in educational, museum, or creative studio settings
- Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Fine Arts preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and accessible learning
- Energetic, detail-oriented, and flexible approach
- Police Vulnerable Sector Check (less than 12 months old) required
- Preference for First Aid CPR (Level C) and High Five Certification
