The ON::View Artist Residency, located at ARTS Southeast in Savannah’s Starland District, offers a free, high-visibility studio space for artists to develop projects, conduct research, or continue in-progress work. The residency features large street-facing windows, allowing the public to observe the artist’s process in real time. The program encourages community engagement through workshops, performances, and artist talks. Accepted artists will also be provided lodging in the 5th Dimension Apartment, a fully equipped private residence located nearby.

Eligibility:

  • Open to artists of all disciplines, working in any medium suitable for the space
  • Open to international and U.S.-based artists
  • Collaborative teams are eligible (maximum of two artists housed in the provided apartment)
  • Current and past (last six months) ARTS Southeast Studio members are ineligible

 

Theme & Community Engagement:

  • The residency encourages public engagement through workshops, performances, and lectures
  • Artists are expected to utilize the large studio windows to showcase their creative process
  • Participation in an annual group exhibition in January 2026

How to Apply & Submission Requirements:

  • Step 1: Pay the $50 application fee (waivers available upon request)
  • Step 2: Complete the online application, including:
    • Project Proposal (750 words max) – residency duration, workspace needs, window use, community engagement plan, and preferred residency months
    • Artist Statement
    • CV/Biography
    • Portfolio (8–10 recent works) via website link
  • Step 3: Selection Committee reviews applications in two rounds, including interviews

 

Selection Process:

  • Applications undergo a two-round jury process by the ON::View Residency selection committee
  • Selected artists will be notified and interviewed before final acceptance
