Associate Curator – Amant, Brooklyn (New York, United States)
This is a full-time curatorial position within Amant’s institutional team, focused on the development, coordination, and execution of exhibitions and public programs across multiple artistic disciplines. The role is embedded in a highly interdisciplinary environment that integrates Visual Arts, literature, performance, film, and music into a unified curatorial framework.
The Associate Curator works closely with the Chief Curator and senior leadership to design exhibition formats, produce editorial and interpretive content, and support the institution’s residency and public engagement programs. The position is both research-driven and production-oriented, requiring strong curatorial vision combined with hands-on exhibition delivery responsibilities.
A key dimension of the role is contributing to Amant’s residency ecosystem, including artist mentorship, studio visits, and the coordination of public presentations within the residency program. The position also involves writing curatorial texts, managing exhibition logistics, and developing collaborative institutional partnerships.

Position & Tasks
- Collaborating with the Chief Curator and curatorial team to develop exhibition concepts aligned with institutional vision
- Designing and refining exhibition formats and editorial content
- Conducting research and managing loan requests, exhibition checklists, and production workflows
- Building and maintaining relationships with artists, collaborators, and cultural partners
- Monitoring and managing program budgets and institutional resources
- Participating in exhibition installation and production processes
- Writing curatorial essays, exhibition texts, wall labels, and interpretive materials
- Developing public programs including lectures, performances, seminars, and workshops
- Supporting residency programming, including artist selection processes and studio visits
- Mentoring artists in residence and supporting public presentation outcomes
- Maintaining active engagement with global contemporary art discourse through research and field engagement
- Representing the institution in professional and public contexts
- Supporting visitor engagement activities, including tours and inquiries

Eligibility
- Open to experienced curators and cultural practitioners
- Minimum 3–5 years of curatorial experience in museums or cultural institutions
- Postgraduate degree in Art History, Philosophy, or related field (PhD preferred)
- Strong professional network in contemporary international art
- Experience working across interdisciplinary artistic fields
