Brief Description

The Friedrich Weinhagen Foundation, in collaboration with BBK Hildesheim and Galerie im Stammelbachspeicher, announces the JUNGE KUNST! Award for young artists in the Hildesheim region. The award consists of a one-year studio scholarship (covering rent and additional costs) and a sponsored solo exhibition. The recipient is expected to open the studio to the public periodically.

  • Studio Size: 25 sqm, shared space with five other studios

Eligibility

  • Open to artists up to 35 years old
  • Applicants must be born in Hildesheim or have an artistic connection to the region
  • Open to individual artists and artist groups
  • Covers various visual arts disciplines (e.g., painting, sculpture, photography, video, new media, printmaking, performance)

Theme

  • Applicants must propose a specific artistic work project to be developed during the residency

How to Apply

Submit a single PDF containing:

  1. CV with an overview of artistic development and primary areas of work
  2. Portfolio with work samples from the past three years, including titles, techniques, and dimensions
  3. List of exhibition participations and any existing catalogues (as a PDF)
  4. Project concept or explanation of the proposed artistic work

Selection Process

  • Jury consists of representatives from the Friedrich Weinhagen Foundation and BBK Hildesheim
  • The jury’s decision is final
