Short Description BUZZ Cultural Association is a collective dedicated to the design and realisation of innovative formats in the field of contemporary and performing arts. Through artistic residencies, workshops, reviews and interdisciplinary events, BUZZ promotes experimentation, co-creation and dialogue between artists, the public and the territory. With a focus on the use of new technologies, the association develops projects that connect art, innovation and cultural heritage. Where and when? The residency will take place over 4 days between May 12 and 15, 2025 in Gorizia/Nova Gorica. Eligibility
  • Age: maximum 35 years at the time of application
  • Artistic field: Sound-art, Video-art
  • Availability to participate in the 4-day residency in Gorizia/Nova Gorica in the period 1-25 May 2025 (Dates TBA) plus one day for Check-in/Welcome day.
Topic and objective The selected artists will be asked to create a site-specific work, exploring the concept of border through sound works or geolocated video art. The concept of the border will be explored in all possible meanings: geographical, historical, cultural, political, but also as a symbolic and inner space. The border as a place of division, but also of encounter and exchange, as an element of identity or transformation. The selected artists will have the opportunity to work on these suggestions, making use of archival materials (texts, photographs, videos and interviews) and immersing themselves directly in the context of Gorizia and Nova Gorica, cities that physically embody the concept of BORDERLESS. The works will become part of a phygital exhibition path, accessible online h24 and will be presented in different territorial contexts by our partners such as the AESON festival and FONDAZIONE AQUILEIA.
