Dek Unu Magazine is an international publication that prioritizes the artist's voice. By dedicating an entire edition to one individual, the magazine offers a deep dive into the creator's practice, life lessons, and technical approach. The magazine is available in both online and paperback print formats, serving as a high-quality archive for contemporary lens-based art.

Dek Unu Solo Artist Feature.
Each edition is themed and curated by the artist rather than the editorial staff. The feature includes 11 primary images, individual commentary for each piece, and an extensive interview supplemented by additional contextual images. The magazine seeks coherent, intentional art that demonstrates technical excellence and a unique perspective, moving away from standard "artist statements" toward personal, accessible storytelling.

Eligibility
- Open to International photographers aged 18 or older.
- Submission is limited to artists not previously published by Dek Unu.
- Only lens-involved art is accepted (no cameraless, digital painting, or algorithmic/AI art).
- Photomontage, alternative/heritage processes, and heavy post-processing are permitted.

Fees
- Application Fee: Free to apply.
- Participation Fee: No fees are assessed to contributors; however, please note that the magazine does not pay contributors.
Application Requirements
- Images: 11 web-resolution images (72 ppi, .jpg, max 1280px on longer side).
- Naming Convention: Files must follow a strict format:
SequenceNumberArtistLastName_Image_Title.jpg(e.g.,01Weston_Cabbage_Leaf.jpg). - CV/Bio: Focused on academic and life lessons.
- Project Commentary: Detailed story of the project and your practice (no word count limit).
- Format: All text in .doc, .docx, .odt, or .rtf only.
- Submission Method: All materials must be attached to a single email sent to dekunumag@gmail.com (no Zips or Dropbox).

Since the magazine and interviews are conducted in English, a high level of written facility is required. While the jurors accept challenging and confrontational work, pornography and gratuitous violence are strictly prohibited.
