Title & Description

Development Associate

Irish Arts Center is seeking a Development Associate to support its fundraising and development operations. This full-time position focuses on donor engagement, membership management, fundraising administration, research, and project coordination.

The role provides an opportunity for an early-career arts professional to gain experience in nonprofit fundraising within a dynamic cultural institution. The Development Associate will contribute to maintaining and expanding donor relationships, supporting fundraising campaigns, managing membership programs, and assisting with grant and development initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with the development team and gradually develop into a key fundraising professional within the organization.

Position & Tasks

The Development Associate will provide administrative and project management support across Irish Arts Center’s fundraising activities, including:

  • Managing and maintaining membership revenue across donor levels ($50–$1,000)
  • Coordinating membership benefits and donor services
  • Cultivating relationships with high-level members and prospective supporters
  • Supporting donor research, prospecting, and pipeline development
  • Working with fundraising staff to identify new growth opportunities
  • Managing research processes and supervising a seasonal research intern
  • Supporting government, corporate, and foundation funding projects alongside grant staff
  • Coordinating annual fundraising appeals, including end-of-year campaigns, St. Patrick’s Day appeals, and end-of-fiscal-year campaigns
  • Providing donor support and administrative assistance for major contributors
  • Completing additional development-related tasks as required

Eligibility

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Open to candidates with professional experience in administration, preferably within nonprofit, cultural, or arts organizations
  • Approximately 2–3 years of administrative work experience preferred
  • Strong interest in arts, Irish culture, education, or nonprofit organizations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with databases
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

  • The position requires candidates to maintain residence within daily commuting distance of Irish Arts Center due to the hybrid work structure
