Short Description
The Geological Museum of the Polish Geological Institute – National Research Institute in Warsaw, in collaboration with the Association of Polish Caricature Artists, invites you to take part in the DINOSAURS. Still Alive? – International Satirical Drawing Competition.
This competition bridges seemingly unrelated disciplines. However, the realms of exact sciences and art are closely linked, with paleontology serving as a field where facts converge with meaning, imagination, and interpretation. The partnership between scientists and artists is remarkable, yielding remarkable scientific insights and outstanding artistic accomplishments.
There are two competition categories:
Category I Dinosaurs – still alive?
Dinosaurs coexisting with humanity – nature of work: joke
Category II Dinosaurs in geological history.
Dinosaurs in the Mesozoic era, not containing anthropogenic elements – Nature of work: caricature, humor
The subject of the competition are drawings, graphics, single-panel comics and comic strips. The artworks submitted must be original works that have not been previously published.
The competition combines majors that seem very distant from each other. yet exact sciences and art are interconnected, and paleontology is a science in which facts meet sense, vision and interpretation.
Eligibility
citizens of countries belonging to the European Union, EU candidates and former members and countries that are members of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).
Prize
Winners will receive cash prizes, invitations to the Award Ceremony at the Geological Museum in Warsaw, an opportunity to showcase their distinguished works in an exhibition, and invitations for a trip to the paleontological site in Borkowice, Mazovia, Poland. The Grand Prize amounts to 12,000 PLN!
