dot.ateliers is a creative residency initiative launched in December 2022 in Accra, Ghana. The program was established in response to a need for more non-commercial opportunities within the creative ecosystem, offering artists support while encouraging the exchange of perspectives, knowledge, and experiences. Its activities emphasize creativity, collaboration, exploration, and community building, connecting the immediate South Labadi community with the wider international creative community.
The residency is based at dot.ateliers|South Labadi, located in Accra's city center. The space was developed as a platform for creative development and mentorship, with a particular interest in supporting emerging artists while also welcoming established practitioners.

dot.ateliers Artist Residency 2027
dot.ateliers Artist Residency 2027 is an open call for visual artists seeking dedicated time, space, and resources to develop their artistic practice. The residency encourages artists to push their creative boundaries, explore new ideas, and participate in a community-oriented creative environment.
Selected artists receive access to studio facilities and accommodation in Accra, allowing them to focus on their practice for a period of six weeks to three months, depending on availability and the artist's proposal. The program is intended to facilitate creative exploration, collaboration, and knowledge exchange rather than commercial production.

Eligibility
The call is open internationally to visual artists of all genders and nationalities who are 18 years of age or older.
Both emerging and established artists are encouraged to apply. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to developing their creative practice, pushing their artistic boundaries, and engaging with the residency community.
Applications must be submitted by individual artists. Collaborative applications are not accepted. However, artists may collaborate with other practitioners after being selected, with responsibility for arranging and managing those collaborations resting with the resident.

The artist remains responsible for daily upkeep and self-maintenance expenses during the residency.

The residency is designed as a non-commercial, practice-development opportunity, with community building as one of its central values. Artists should note that the material stipend and covered travel do not constitute full living-cost funding. Residents are responsible for their own daily upkeep and personal expenses. Although residents may collaborate with other artists during their stay, dot.ateliers only assumes responsibility for the selected resident.
