Organizer Information
EnzymKultur e.V. is a small, nonprofit art association founded in Essen in late 2022 by a group of friends working across visual art, music, and cultural organizing in the Ruhr region of Germany. The association describes itself as a "laboratory for art projects," drawing on curatorial and performance experience its founding members have built over years of independent projects in the region — including exhibition and performance spaces such as SCHWANENMARKT (a converted, long-vacant kiosk in Essen used for participatory art and research projects) and the Kubig400 glass pavilion restoration project in Essen's Grugapark. EnzymKultur previously organized project series including KammerPerformance and gARTen, and currently runs an ongoing literary salon and garden program alongside its exhibition and video-art initiatives.

Open Call — Video Art 2027: "Pfade, Wege, Straßen" (Paths, Routes, Streets)
EnzymKultur is planning a 2027 series of events built around the theme "Paths, Routes, Streets" and is inviting artists to submit video works to be presented within that series. Selected works will be shown in unusual, everyday settings — garages, gardens, and cellars — continuing the association's earlier project format established through KammerPerformance and gARTen. From the submissions received, EnzymKultur will assemble curated programs for the 2027 series.
Theme
Paths, Routes, Streets — the organizers are seeking experimental, documentary, narrative, or freely artistic video positions responding to this theme, with no further thematic restriction stated.

Additional Details
Selection is a two-stage process: a member of the association first pre-screens all submissions, after which the pre-selected works are presented to a final jury that includes two outside experts. All applicants will be notified of acceptance or rejection. Receipt of applications will be confirmed promptly. The organizers state that legal recourse regarding the selection decision is excluded.
