Organizer Information
Equisoain Art Residency is a living eco-laboratory and cultural initiative founded by artists and curators Eliana Perinat and Lívia Diniz. Located in Navarra, Spain, under the shadow of Mount La Higa, Equisoain operates in collaboration with LABEA (Laboratorio de Arte, Ciencia y Naturaleza), the international Eternal Forest network, and Asociación Despierta. Rooted in ecological thought, somatic practice, and interspecies co-creation, the platform invites artists to move beyond treating nature as a passive subject, framing the forest and its ecosystems as active co-authors of contemporary creative research.
Title & Description
Equisoain Artistic Residencies 2026–2027: Call for Entries
Equisoain has launched its open call for the 2026–2027 residency cycles, inviting creators across visual arts, land art, sound, performance, and environmental research to immerse themselves in a 15-day retreat in Navarra. Residents live and work inside a restored 15th-century bioclimatic tower-house nestled within a beech, oak, and boxwood forest. Operating under the guiding principles of living exchange, somatic presence, and material memory, the program offers guided forest walks (Insight Art), natural ink and biomaterial harvesting workshops (Inks, Matter and Landscape), and interspecies co-creation archives. Selected artists receive a formal "Institutional Co-Authorship Protocol" document to negotiate the forest's co-authorship status with museums and galleries.
