Association Noemi – Espace Brownstone, formerly known as the Brownstone Foundation, is a Paris-based cultural organization founded in 1999 by curator and philanthropist Gilbert Brownstone, with a mission of supporting cultural and educational development, particularly around Latin American and Caribbean art. Since 2025, its activities have been carried forward under the name Association Noemi. Espace Brownstone, its space in the Le Marais district of Paris, has operated for more than two decades as a venue for exhibitions, residencies, and exchange programs connecting artists from the region with the Parisian art scene, with past collaborations including institutions such as the Centre Pompidou and the Havana Biennial.
Art in Latin America is an editorial and curatorial platform focused on contemporary art from Latin America and its diaspora, reaching readers in more than 130 countries through interviews, essays, exhibition reviews, and curatorial projects.

Espace Brownstone × Art in Latin America 2027 Artist Residency
Association Noemi – Espace Brownstone and Art in Latin America have launched an open call for an artist residency in Paris, France, aimed at artists from Latin America and the Caribbean. The program offers one artist a two-and-a-half-month period to develop their practice, advance an artistic research project or body of work, and build connections with peers, communities, and institutions within the Parisian art ecosystem. The residency takes place at Espace Brownstone's premises in the Le Marais district.

- Open to artists of any age and at any stage of their professional trajectory
Program Benefits & Awards
- Accommodation for the full residency period (January 15 – March 31, 2027), in an apartment located within the Espace Brownstone premises
- A dedicated private studio within Espace Brownstone, available throughout the residency
- Curatorial support to help develop the artist's project and facilitate connections within the Parisian art ecosystem
- Assistance with visa procedures if required, including invitation letters and supporting documentation the residency is able to provide
Not covered by the residency: international or domestic airfare; personal expenses including meals, local transportation, and travel insurance; visa application fees and other visa-related costs. Applicants are responsible for their own visa application, associated costs, and consular requirements; visa approval rests solely with the relevant authorities.
